This bag may just blow your mind! Have you ever wanted to leave the house with just a clutch, KNOWING that you will wish you had brought a big tote bag instead? But who wants to carry an empty tote around?

PROBLEM SOLVED!

A Little Big Bag starts out as a clutch. You can zip your phone, keys, mask and $$ into the outer pocket. When you are ready to buy something or shed a jacket, leave everything in the clutch.  Unzip the Turning Window, flip the clutch inside out and all of the things in the clutch pocket stay put and end up securely inside your tote.  You can access the pocket from a zipper that is inside the tote.  Nothing’s falling out, nothing has to be transferred.  Amazing!

RECOMMENDED SKILL LEVEL:  This pattern is suitable for intermediate level sewists but confident beginners looking to build skills should jump in.  This is a lengthy pattern (30+ pages) but all instructions are spelled out step-by-step and there are more than 30 diagrams, including optional cutting layouts. I had testers ranging from true beginners to expert bag makers and every one completed the bag.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:  Quilting weight cotton works best for easier bag turning and limits the bulk factor when it is in clutch form.  I have also used canvas (8-10 oz. weight)  with good results.  The canvas bag looks great, but it was a little heavier to carry and a little more difficult to turn.

SUPPLY REQUIREMENTS:

• Main Fabric (minimum 42" width) - 1 ¾ yard

• Contrast Fabric (minimum 42" width) - ¼ yard

• 1/2" Double Fold Bias Tape - 1 package

• OPTIONAL ** Strapping/Belting for Shoulder Straps, Wrist Strap and Pull Tab

  minimum 90”

• Pellon SF101 Interfacing 20" width - 1 ¼ yard

• Nylon Handbag Zippers - THREE - 10” handbag zippers (longpull)

  OR 30” zipper-by-yhe-yard and 3 zipper pulls

• ¼” Double-Sided Wonder Tape - 1 package

• Coordinating All-Purpose thread - 1 spool

ADDITIONAL TOOLS NEEDED: You will also need a rotary cutter, cutting mat, long acrylic ruler, zipper foot for your sewing machine, fabric clips or pins, all-purpose and fabric scissors, temporary fabric marker, scotch or painters tape and something pointy like a point turner or a knitting needle.

OPTIONAL TOOLS THAT ARE USEFUL: A seam roller and glue stick are recommended for zipper windows.
